Working with Char

Life coaching begins with your desire to make a change in your life, to alter your path in some way. Changes can be difficult to make and often take a long time to effect. I will assist you in charting a course and coach you every step of the way to get you to your chosen destination in an efficient and effective way.

As your life coach, I work with you to determine those things in life that you value most. Together, we create an action plan to achieve those goals. We forge an ongoing partnership that assists you in making fulfilling changes in your life, personally and professionally. This will be accomplished through regular telephone, email or face-to-face sessions. You will set the agenda and focus for each conversation. As your coach, I will offer my impressions and pose questions to further your process. At all times, I will keep your vision in mind.

The First Step:

Contact to schedule a coaching session. Our first session will introduce you to the life coaching process and to me. You will identify where you are now, what you would like to create in your life and then you will start taking the necessary steps to bring you towards your goals. We will decide on whether we will use one of Dr. Phil's programs as our sole approach or whether a more blended approach is appropriate.

The Next Steps:

Coaching sessions are generally done by phone so that you can be anywhere and contact me for your regular sessions. I also offer email and face to face sessions. Regardless of which format we use, each session is approximately 50 minutes and begins by you discussing your achievements for the last week. Then, we look at the challenges you are currently facing and how you would like to focus the call.

In the coaching process, you will be asked questions that will help you hear what you're really thinking and tap into your deepest desires. You will be heard with sincerity and appreciated. I will make observations to clarify what you're saying so that both of us will really understand what you want and what might get in your way. At the end of the coaching session, we will create action steps that you can take towards achieving your goals. In between our regularly scheduled sessions, please feel free to email me briefly if you'd like to share your successes or want additional support.
